It is the opinion of the Fourth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance that Judge David D. Parrish should BE RETAINED.
Judge David D. Parrish is will liked and appreciated by the attorneys, jurors, and law enforcement personnel who have appeared in form of him these past six years. Judge Parrish’s overall retention rating with these groups was 87% as he scored very high in all categories polled. Indeed, Judge Parrish received 95% or better in the following categories: displayed sense of justice, maintaining an appropriate judicial demeanor, maintaining control over his courtroom, overall courtesy and compassion and excellent punctuality.
Judge Parrish attended Colorado College as an undergraduate and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1969. From 1969 to 1978, Judge Parrish maintained the private practice of law in El Paso County before his appointment to the County Court bench where has served with distinction, competence, and compassion.
Not coincidentally, the comments from the attorneys who have appeared in from of Judge Parrish echo the polling data that he is generally courteous and qualified although, at times, is not as prompt in his rulings as he could be.
