First Judicial District - Jefferson County Court Judge
Honorable Kim H. Goldberger
Retention Year: 1998
Recommendation: Retain
The First Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that County Judge Kim H. Goldberger BE RETAINED.
Judge Goldberger was appointed to the Jefferson County Court in 1975. Prior to his appointment he was in private practice of law. Judge Goldberger's community activities include speaking to school groups and participating on the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness. He presides over civil, traffic, misdemeanor criminal cases and conducts preliminary felony hearings.
A majority of groups surveyed recommend that Judge Goldberger be retained. Surveys indicate, and the Commission concurs, that Judge Goldberger continues to have a problem with tardiness. As indicated in previous reviews, this circumstance needs to be remedied. Judge Goldberger acknowledges this concern and is implementing corrective measures. Judge Goldberger is commended for his sense of justice, his ability to help resolve complex disputes, and his compassion.
