Judge Woodford was appointed to the District Court in 1991. He was the Assistant Director of the Assigned Counsel program operated by the University of Colorado School of Law. Prior to his appointment he was a part time Deputy District Attorney and was in the private practice of law. He participates in community activities such as Law Day and student mock trials.
Judge Woodford presides over criminal, civil, domestic relations and some juvenile cases.
An overwhelming majority of responses from groups surveyed recommended Judge Woodford be retained. Groups surveyed highly rated him on his courteous and respectful manner. Virtually all responses complimented his patience, compassion, pleasant disposition, knowledge of the law and his ability to listen.
Based on this information the Commission on Judicial Performance recommends Judge Woodford SHOULD BE RETAINED.
