The Fourteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Cecil Wayne Williams BE RETAINED.

Judge Cecil Wayne Williams was appointed Judge to the Grand County Court in 1992. Judge Williams currently hears all County Court cases, which includes civil, criminal traffic, misdemeanor, felony advisements, and probable cause cases.

Courthouse personnel, law enforcement, juror, and attorney questionnaires received by the Commission, rate Judge Williams highly overall. Judge Williams received high marks for compassion, integrity, judicial demeanor, and control of the courtroom.

Judge Williams is very energetic, prepared, knowledgeable and extremely patient, especially with parties who are not represented by lawyers.

Those persons who responded to the questionnaires made the following recommendations concerning retention for Judge Williams: Attorneys Retain: 75% - Do Not Retain: 6.3% - No Opinion: 18.7%, Jurors Retain: 77.8% - Do Not Retain: 5.6% - No Opinion: 16.6%, Litigants Retain: 83.3% - Do Not Retain: 16.7%, Court/Probation Retain: 100.0%, Law Enforcement Officers Retain: 86.7% - Do Not Retain: 6.7% - No Opinion 6.6% and Crime Victims No Opinion: 100%.
