The Thirteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Robert B. Smith BE RETAINED.


Judge Smith was appointed to the Logan County Court bench in 2000. Before this appointment, Judge Smith represented several governmental bodies and was in private practice. From 1978 to 2000, he was also Municipal Court Judge for the City of Sterling.


Judge Smith is interested in improving court practice and has introduced innovative procedures for better case management. The survey results were generally positive for Judge Smith. Respondents believed that he is a good communicator and a fair and impartial judge. Written survey results showed that 100% of attorneys and 85% of non-attorneys favored retention.
