Satter, Raymond 1994 Evaluation

Second Judicial District - Denver County Court Judge

Honorable Raymond N. Satter

Retention Year: 1994
Recommendation: Retain

Judge Raymond N. Satter received his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver in 1970 and graduated from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1973. Judge Satter was appointed to the county court bench in 1987 after 14 years as an attorney in private practice in a law firm, as general counsel in a private business and as a sole practitioner. Judge Satter currently hears civil cases and has had previous assignments in the traffic division, general sessions and the criminal division.

Courthouse personnel, attorney and litigant evaluations received by the Commission rate Judge Satter highly overall. Judge Satter received high marks from attorneys on all of the evaluation categories on the survey administered by the State Judicial Commission. He received highest ratings for maintaining control of the courtroom, working diligently and sentencing fairly.

Judge Satter believes in keeping things simple, believing that the county court is the “peoples’ court” and should therefore be accessible to the people, and he streamlines procedure to expedite presentations, especially where persons appear without an attorney. Judge Satter has taught classes to newly appointed judges.

The Second Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Satter BE RETAINED.
