The Seventeenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Sabino E. Romano BE RETAINED.
In making its recommendation, the Commission reviewed evaluations from attorneys and non-attorneys who have appeared before Judge Romano. The Commission considered statistical responses as well as comments addressing the Judge’s strengths and weaknesses, temperament, knowledge of the law, courtesy, impartiality, and retention recommendations. The commission also conducted a personal interview with the Judge.
Judge Romano has served on the Adams County Court for 22 years, hearing misdemeanor, minor felony, civil, and traffic cases. The past three years have been dedicated exclusively to civil and traffic cases.
As part of the recently conducted survey, Judge Romano received high ratings from both attorneys and non-attorneys for his performance, with particularly high marks for his fairness, demeanor and communication skills. 92% of attorneys and 100% of non-attorneys recommend that he be retained, significantly above the average for county court judges.
The Commission agrees with the general sentiment of the public that Judge Romano be retained. It is the Commission’s view that Judge Romano is an excellent jurist who serves the rule of law and the citizens of this District with the utmost skill, respect, and professionalism.
