Judge Polidori was appointed to the district court bench in 1984.

Prior to becoming a district court judge, she was in private practice for seven years in Lakewood, Colorado. He other legal experience was as an attorney with Legal Aid of Metro Denver, a Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District, and Investigative Counsel and Interim Special Disciplinary Prosecutor for the Colorado Supreme Court Grievance Committee.

Judge Polidori presides over criminal and civil cases. She also hears domestic relations cases and appeals from county court.

Judge Polidori is energetic, prepared, and know the law. She received high ratings for being a punctual and diligent worker. She also received high ratings for clarity of written and oral decisions, and for maintaining courtroom control. She is concerned the judicial system has become too costly and complicated for many who come to court.

She participates extensively in community activities including leadership in state and local bar associations, Colorado Supreme Court Committees and National High School Mock Trial Competitions. She is fervent in her belief that an important duty of a judge is to educate the public about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and she acts upon this belief.

The 1st Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Ruthanne N. Polidori be retained.
