Judge Palmieri was appointed to the county court bench in 1982, following four years in the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office. She had additional legal experience as staff attorney for the Colorado General Assembly and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado.
Judge Palmieri presides over civil, traffic, misdemeanor, criminal cases and felony preliminary hearings.
Based on surveys of attorneys, litigants and jurors, Judge Palmieri is highly rated for the clarity of written and oral decisions and for her sense of justice. She is also highly for treating all parties equally and for making decisions without regard to popularity or public influence.
Survey respondents also said she is a diligent worker, punctual, and prompt in her rulings and decisions.
Judge Palmieri is an active participant in community and professional affairs. She is president of the Colorado Association of County Court Judges, a trustee of the First Judicial District Bar Association, a member and former board member of the National Association of Women Judges, a member of the Colorado Judicial Faculty and also serves on the faculty of the National Judicial College. She is past president of the board of directors of Mt. Evans Hospice/Home Health Care in Evergreen and frequently speaks to local school and community groups.
The 1st Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Linda T. Palmieri be retained.
