Judge Olson was appointed to the county court bench in April 1990. He was in private practice for 18 years prior to his appointment.
Judge Olson is currently presiding judge of the county court and hears criminal, traffic and civil cases.
All groups surveyed and interviewed highly recommended retention. Judge Olson is highly rated for his sense of justice, knowledge of the law, courtroom control and diligence. He is dedicated to his responsibilities as a judge and tries to do the right thing. He believes in the judicial system and in the Constitution. He is even-tempered, hard-working and has an outstanding demeanor.
Judge Olson is especially sensitive to children’s issues, having been associated with the Forrest Heights Lodge for Boys for many years.
The 1st Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Roy G. Olson be retained.
