Judge Nieschburg was appointed District Judge in the 15th Judicial District on September 11, 1986. He served as a Deputy District Attorney from 1972-1974 and was District Attorney for the 15th Judicial District from 1977-1987. During 1973-1977, he also has a private law practice.
Presently, Nieschburg presides over criminal, juvenile, domestic, civil, mental health and probate matters. The evaluations of Nieschburg contained very high recommendations from attorneys, jurors, probation/social services and law enforcement.
The written comments taken from the survey evaluations reflect Nieschburg conducts himself free from impropriety. He is viewed as being courteous, patient, capable of displaying compassion and maintaining courtroom control. Although some people find his decisions are at times delayed, he was praised for being “fair, honest judge – is not afraid of work!”
