The Fifth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge R. Thomas Moorhead BE RETAINED.
Judge Moorhead has been on the bench for 1-1/2 years as a District Court Judge. His prior position was as the Eagle County Attorney. His community involvement has been as an advocate for youth and youth organizations. He has built a reputation as a hard worker and has proven his dedication to a high level of achievement.
The District Commission was impressed with his uniform excellent rating in surveys of both attorneys and non-attorneys. There was even a category of treating parties fairly that was given a perfect score by attorneys.
Although he has only been on the bench for a short time, the Commission feels that Judge Moorhead will become one of the most outstanding judges within our state. The opinions of the groups responding in statistically meaningful numbers to the surveys circulated by the State Commission of Judicial Performance included a 92% retain and 8% do not retain return from attorneys, and a 90% retain and 10% do not retain return from non-attorneys.
The Fifth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously voted to recommend retention of Judge R. Thomas Moorhead.
