Fourteenth Judicial District - Grand County Court Judge
Honorable Scotty P. Krob
Retention Year: 1990
Recommendation: Retain
Judicial Performance Commission’s recommendation: Should Be Retained.
Judge Krob received his law degree in 1980. He was in private practice for three years before being appointed to the Grand County Court bench in July 1983. Krob serves as the District Court Referee for Grand County District Court and as the Water Referee for the Division 6 Water Court.
Krob presides over traffic and misdemeanor criminal cases, including drunken driving cases, preliminary hearings in felony matters, small claims cases and civil cases involving claims up to $5,000.
Most jurors, litigants and law enforcement people rated Krob favorably. Responding attorneys indicated he showed improvement in his performance since the last retention election; however, ratings from attorneys also indicated a need for improvement in the areas of punctuality and timeliness and thoroughness or written decisions. The Commission received mixed comments from attorneys regarding Krob’s judicial demeanor.
