Judge Bob G. Johnson was appointed as Dolores County Court Judge on March 12, 1981. Prior to the appointment, he was appointed Dolores County Sheriff in 1962 and served in that position until 1972. He was a miner for Union Carbide from January, 1968 to December, 1982.
Judge Johnson presides over the criminal traffic, civil and small claims cases in Dolores County as well as over preliminary hearings in felony cases.
The majority of the individuals responding rated Judge Johnson favorable as to his overall performance. Law enforcement and attorney responses indicated he manage his courtroom adequately and had the capacity to make decisions with regard to the popularity of the decision. The responses also showed Judge Johnson to be courteous, punctual and as having an appropriate demeanor and control over the courtroom.
