The Seventh Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance, by unanimous vote, recommends Judge Charles R. Greenacre BE RETAINED.

Judge Greenacre graduated from Georgetown Law School. He spent fifteen years in private practice, then six years as a Montrose County Court judge. Judge Greenacre was appointed to the District Court bench in 2000. Aside from his work on the bench, he participates in farming, hunting fishing, camping.

Judge Greenacre’s workload consists of forty-seven percent (47%) civil cases, two percent (2%) domestic relations, thirty percent (30%) criminal and twenty-one percent (21%) other matters. He has worked to establish a family drug court in Delta County.

The Commission observed Judge Greenacre in the courtroom, reviewed his decisions, conducted a personal interview and reviewed his written self-evaluation. The Commission found Judge Greenacre to be dignified and courteous in the courtroom. Judge Greenacre manages his docket in an efficient manner, makes rulings based on the merits of the case at hand and applies the law fairly and consistently.

Eighty-six percent (86%) of attorneys responding to the evaluation survey recommended that Judge Greenacre be retained in office, eleven percent (11%) recommended that he not be retained, and three percent (3%) had no opinion. Of the non-attorneys, eighty-three percent (83%) recommended retention, eight percent (8%) recommended non-retention, and eight percent (8%) had no opinion.
