The Second Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Herbert H. Galchinsky BE RETAINED.

Judge Galchinsky graduated from the University of Denver in 1960 and received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1963. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1964. He worked in private practice from 1964 until 1994, specializing in general, civil, commercial and family law. He became a county court magistrate for the City and County of Denver in June 1993 and then he was appointed to the Denver county court as a county court judge in September of 1994, serving first in the traffic division and currently hearing juvenile matters and environmental matters.

Judge Galchinsky participates in the community by frequent speaking engagements to senior citizen's groups, neighborhood associations and in the schools. Observations by the Commission confirm that Judge Galchinsky treats the public with courtesy, dignity and civility, and reaches decisions fairly and rationally after weighing the evidence before him. Judge Galchinsky demonstrates excellent judicial demeanor as well as compassion.

Attorneys voted in our survey 90.3% for retention, 6.5% to not retain, and 3.2% had no opinion.
