The Seventeenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Thomas R. Ensor BE RETAINED.

Judge Ensor is a District Court Judge for the Seventeenth Judicial District. He was appointed to the District Court Bench in 1984. Prior to his appointment he was an Adams County Court Judge and a Chief Deputy for the Adams County District Attorney's Office.

Judge Ensor has heard criminal, civil and juvenile cases during his tenure. He considers himself to be a hard working judge who is always prepared for each case. He has a good grasp of the law, particularly trial procedure and evidence. He cares about the people who appear before him as litigants and truly wants to resolve their issues for the betterment of all concerned.

The ratings from court employees, litigants, law enforcement personnel and attorneys indicate that Judge Ensor is very fair and treats all people equally in court. Even though some attorneys felt Judge Ensor needed to be more even tempered they thought he was very fair and well prepared for his court cases. The majority of those responding to the surveys felt that Judge Ensor should be retained.
