William P. DeMoulin was appointed to the district court bench in January 1989. He graduated from law school in 1960 and was in private practice until his appointment. He has been active in the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, serving as president of both.
Judge DeMoulin presides over civil, criminal, domestic relations, and some juvenile cases. Groups surveyed highly rated Judge DeMoulin for his intelligence, patience, courtesy, sincerity, compassion, and knowledge of the law. While his expertise is in civil law, he is improving his knowledge of criminal and domestic law. He sees himself as tough on drug related crimes, crimes against children, and repeat offenders.
The 1st Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge William P. DeMoulin be retained.
