The Judicial Performance Commission of the Second Judicial District recommends that Judge Crew BE RETAINED.

Judge Crew graduated from the University of Cincinnati Law School after obtaining his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University. He was in corporate and private practice and a county court magistrate prior to his appointment to the Denver County Court in 1977.

During his 19 years as a judge he has been assigned to all of the division of the county court, which include traffic, general sessions (ordinance violations), criminal, arraignments and preliminary hearings in felony cases, and civil.

Judge Crew is a strong believer in victim’s rights, including the payment of damages by responsible persons. He speaks to students touring the courts approximately ten times a year explaining the court system with actual examples from his experience as a judge.

Survey results rate Judge Crew highly in displaying a sense of justice, knowing the law and rules of evidence, courtesy, compassion, hard work and prompt rulings and decisions, The Denver police officers responding to the survey all voted to retain him.

Written survey results showed 82.6% of attorneys and 100% of law enforcement personnel favored retention; and 17.4% of attorney favored non-retention.
