The Thirteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance highly recommends that Judge David O. Colver BE RETAINED. The vote was unanimous.
Judge Colver was appointed to the bench in 1980 and has consistently received high marks. He deals with many pro se litigants and defendants in county court and works diligently to communicate clearly with them. Previously he served as municipal judge in Haxtun and Wray, and currently he serves as municipal judge in Holyoke and maintains a private law practice excluding domestic relations.
Judge Colver is involved in community activities and especially enjoys working with high school students. The local FCCLA Chapter has found his advice extremely beneficial. As Judge Colver has lived in Holyoke his entire life, his interest in the young has had a positive effect in the community as well as having assisted him in making appropriate sentences and probationary terms for youth.
Attorney questionnaires rank Judge Colver high in case management, knowledge of law, demeanor and diligence. They rank his communication skills extremely high. Of the responses received, 100% of attorneys and 85% of non-attorneys surveyed voted to retain Judge Colver.
