Tenth Judicial District - Pueblo County Court Judge

Honorable David A. Cole

Retention Year: 1994
Recommendation: Retain

#FFFFFF

Judge David A. Cole was admitted to the practice of law in 1973. He was a deputy in the office of the Pueblo District Attorney for a period of time and was in private practice thereafter until appointed to the Pueblo County Court Bench in 1988. His caseload includes civil matters of limited jurisdiction, misdemeanor cases, criminal and traffic cases, and cases involving domestic violence.

A survey conducted to evaluation the performance of Judge Cole sought response from members of law enforcement, attorneys, litigants, jurors and courthouse personnel. Only two juror responses were received. No litigant responses were received.

Some of the responses to the survey suggested that Judge Cole needs to better utilize his staff and to delegate more administrative responsibilities. The overwhelming majority of the response, however, praised Judge Cole for his hard work, enthusiasm for the job, treatment of attorneys and litigants and his knowledge of the law and sense of fairness.

It is clear for the responses received that Judge Cole is one of the most highly regarded judge in the Tenth Judicial District. Of the persons responding to the survey, it was strongly recommended that Judge Cole be retained.

The Tenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge David A. Cole BE RETAINED.
