Judge Cole began the practice of law in 1973. He served as a deputy district attorney in the Pueblo District Attorney’s Office and also worked as an assistant city attorney for the City of Pueblo. He maintained a private law practice in Pueblo for several years before being appointed to the bench.

Cole serves in Division 3 of the Pueblo County Court. As a County Court judge, he presides over misdemeanor criminal cases and traffic offenses. He also handles civil cases where the amount of the dispute is less than $5,000. Cole has also served as an acting District Court judge to temporarily fill vacancies. While serving as a District Court judge, he presided over criminal, civil and domestic cases including juvenile and mental health matters.

Cole was uniformly praised for his courtesy to all people with whom he has contact as a judge. One hundred percent of the people who responded to the survey recommended he be retained.
