Judge Carlson was appointed to the Sedgwick County Court Bench in 1978 and has served continuously for 18 years. Judge Carlson presently hears criminal misdemeanor, traffic, traffic infraction and civil cases as a part-time judge. He also has a private practice in Julesburg.
Evaluation received from courthouse personnel, attorney, and litigants consistently rated Judge Carlson very highly. The Commission’s impression of Judge Carlson based on an in-person interview is that he very competently fulfills his office and has a temperament very well suited to a rural county court judge.
