The Fourth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Rebecca Snyder Bromley be RETAINED.

Judge Bromley received a Masters in Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada-Reno, an MA from Smith College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia. She is a past president of the El Paso County Bar Association and served on the Colorado Bar Associations Executive Council Board of Governors.

Judge Bromley practiced law in El Paso County from 1973 to 1981. From 1981 to 1984, she served as District Judge Referee. She was Presiding Judge of County Court from 1987 to 1993, has been Acting District Judge for Probate from 1999 to date and County Court Judge from 1985 to date.

Judge Bromley received the Outstanding County Court Judge award in 1995 (given by the County Court Judges Association) and was named Outstanding Woman Lawyer in 1987 by the Women Lawyers Association. She is also, or has been, involved in a number of community activities, including the Palmer Foundation, Pikes Peak Hospice, Center for Domestic Violence, the Kiwanis, the American Red Cross and the Center for Community Development and Design.

Non-attorney survey responses rated Judge Bromley from 3.1 to 3.5 (on a 4-point scale). Her ratings were on a par with all County Judges statewide. She was recommended for retention by 76% of those responding with 13% disagreeing and 11% having no opinion.

Attorneys responding to the survey rated Judge Bromley from 2.8 to 3.2 (on a 4-point scale). Seventy-one (71%) of attorneys responding recommended Judge Bromley for retention, 23% did not and 6% had no opinion. Judge Bromley's recommendations for retention was lower (71%) than for all County Judges statewide (78%).
