The First Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Brian D. Boatright BE RETAINED.

Although Judge Boatright has been a judge for only two and three-quarter years, the Commission finds that he has done an outstanding job in all areas. Judge Boatright presides over civil, criminal, domestic and juvenile cases. He is bright, articulate and a conscientious professional who exhibits an excellent demeanor. He is very knowledgeable of the rules of evidence and the law. The judge is patient, courteous and manages his docket very efficiently.

The Commission commends the judge for striving to achieve a balance between his personal and professional life. He is well-prepared for court and works hard at learning the complexity of the civil law.

Judge Boatright has an excellent record of community service. He is a past president of the Jefferson County Bar Association and is a frequent speaker at schools in the district. He is also a speaker at local leadership programs in Jefferson County, Golden and Lakewood each year.

Of the attorneys polled, 94% recommend retention, 3% recommended not to retain and 3% had no opinion. Of the non-attorneys polled, 91% voted for retention, 3% voted not to retain and 5% had no opinion. Judge Boatright’s scores in almost all of the areas measured were at or near the top of the range for all of the judges who were the subject of the judicial poll.
