Judge Behrman was admitted to the bar in 1950 after graduation from law school at Harvard University. Prior to his appointment as a Weld County District Court Judge in 1972, Judge Behrman practiced for one year as an associate with a Denver law firm, and was in private practice in Greeley from 1951 to 1972. From 1968 to 1970, he was a Weld County Deputy District Attorney.

Judge Behrman presently hears water cases, civil matters involving more than $10,000 and probate matters. He is the Chief Judge of the Weld County District Court.

The majority of all the surveyed groups highly recommended retention for Judge Behrman with 92.76% of respondents recommending retention, 5.26% not recommending retention, and 1.98% expressing no opinion. Numerous comments from those surveyed stated Judge Behrman is an excellent judge, highly competent, extremely fair, with a very good judicial demeanor. Some concerns were expressed that improvements could be made in the area of timeliness of Judge Behrman’s rulings and decisions.
 
The 19th Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Robert A. Behrman be Retained.
