Judge Arnold was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1952 and was appointed as Logan County Judge in 1967. He is a partner in the Sterling law firm of Arnold, Ross and Singer and has been in private practice of law in Sterling since 1952.

Nearly 90% of attorneys surveyed who voiced an opinion thought Arnold should be retained. Other groups surveyed also indicated he should be retained and gave favorable marks to his judicial performance. The Judicial Performance Commission is concerned with some responses indicating a concern about bias by Arnold and about his handling of ex parte communications with attorneys and litigants.
