The Seventh Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously agrees (9-0), one Commissioner absent, that Judge Keri A. Yoder MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.
Judge Yoder was appointed to the District Court for the Seventh Judicial District in March 2016. She received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1996 and law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1999. Prior to appointment Judge Yoder worked as a prosecutor in the Office of the 7th Judicial District Attorney, most recently serving as Assistant District Attorney, and prior to that in private practice in the areas of general civil litigation and employment law.
The Commission observed Judge Yoder in the courtroom, reviewed opinions she authored, reviewed survey results, interviewed the Chief Judge, the District Attorney and the Public Defender, reviewed Judge Yoder’s written self-evaluation, and conducted a personal interview. Both attorneys and non-attorneys were surveyed regarding Judge Yoder’s performance. Of attorneys responding to the survey, 87% answered yes, meets performance standards, 9% responded no, does not meet performance standards, and 4% had no opinion. Of non-attorneys responding to the survey, 85% answered yes, meets performance standards, 9% responded no, does not meet performance standards, and 6% responding had no opinion.
Judge Yoder presides over criminal, civil, domestic relations, juvenile and probate matters. Based on the Commission’s overall evaluation, Judge Yoder has demonstrated she meets or exceeds performance standards in all categories.
