Of the non-attorneys responding, 83% answered yes, meets performance standards, 17% answered no, does not meet performance standards and 0% had no opinion. Thirty-six attorneys and fifty-five non-attorneys responded to the judicial performance surveys expressing their opinions of Judge Lung’s performance.
Currently, Judge Lung presides over criminal, juvenile and domestic relations dockets. Based on the Commission’s overall evaluation, Judge Lung has demonstrated that he meets performance standards in all categories including case management, application and knowledge of the law, communication, demeanor and diligence. One concern identified by the Commission was a possible over commitment to outside activities taking away from judicial responsibilities. Judge Lung is aware of this concern and during his interview assured the Commission that he will take this concern seriously. Judge Lung is described as a “good listener,” “considerate,” “knowledgeable” and “respectful to those in his courtroom.” His opinions are well-reasoned, supported by the law, and understandable. Based on these findings, the Commission unanimously agreed that Judge Robert R. Lung meets performance standards.
