Judge Dana Wakefield graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania in 1969 with a degree in Economics. He received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1972.
Prior to his appointment to the district court, Judge Wakefield served as chief deputy district attorney in Denver.
Judge Wakefield has served fourteen years on the bench and became Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court in January 1994. He has reorganized the juvenile court so that judges will specialize in areas of child abuse, child neglect, dependency and delinquency cases.
Judge Wakefield received high rating form the limited number of evaluations provided by attorneys, litigants, jurors and courthouse personnel.
The Second Judicial District Commission on Performance recommends Judge Wakefield BE RETAINED.
