The 17th Judicial District Commission recommends is that Judge Jeffrey L. Romeo BE RETAINED.

Judge Romeo received his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Colorado in Many 1974. He earned his law degree from the University of Colorado in May 1977, and was admitted to the bar in October of the same year. His practice, prior to his appointment to the Adams County Bench in June 1990, included private practice and a stint in the office of the District Attorney. His docket primarily consists of criminal cases. However, he takes on other types of cases in accordance with the needs of the Court.

The only survey results received by the Commission for Judge Romeo were from attorneys and law enforcement officers. Attorneys’ ratings of Judge Romeo were quite positive (82% or better) in all categories except punctuality. Eighty-six percent of attorneys recommended retention. Ten percent recommended that he not be retained, and four percent had no opinion on retention.

Law enforcement officers gave Romeo positive ratings of 82% or better for all categories except courtesy, patience and maintaining courtroom control. Seventy-three percent recommended retention.

The Commission members who interviewed Judge Romeo gave him an average score of 38 of a possible 45 points.
