Based upon the survey results and the Commission’s interview, the Commission recommends that Judge John E. Popovich BE RETAINED.

Judge Popovich was appointed to the District Court on December 23, 1986. Prior to his appointment, he served as District Court Magistrate. Judge Popovich has been instrumental in improving and streamlining the Adams County Juvenile Court system.

Judge Popovich is currently assigned to the criminal bench. However, he has also presided over civil, juvenile and domestic relations matters.

An overwhelming majority of those surveyed recommended that Judge Popovich be retained. His understanding, compassion for and patience with litigants, jurors and attorneys were praised, as was his work ethic. The Commission took special note of Judge Popovich’s involvement in community activities.
