The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Anne M. Ollada BE RETAINED.
Background: Judge Ollada's undergraduate work was at the University of California at Santa Barbara where she majored in Chinese studies. She then went to Shanghai China and Taiwan. She then went to the California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 1992, where she completed her law degree. She has practiced as a civil attorney in private practice prior to becoming a magistrate. Judge Ollada was appointed to the Arapahoe County Court as a magistrate in 1999 and as a county court judge in Sept 2006.
Judge Ollada has quickly established herself as an outstanding and exceptional judge. She receives numerous high marks for her fairness, thoroughness and well thought out decisions. Her demeanor on the bench is both professional and personable. Recognizing her newness to the bench, she continually strives to better herself with self study and a superior work ethic.
The Commission conducts extensive research in making this recommendation, including use of surveys conducted on the judge, interviews with people involved in the courtroom, personal observations in the courtroom and the judge's self evaluation.
Recommendation: Of those attorneys surveyed 94% recommended Judge Ollada be retained and 89% of non-attorneys felt that she should be retained. The Commission is recommending Judge Ollada without reservation. She has proved to be a superior judge during her initial tenure and shows every sign of being a judge of the highest quality. The Commission finds that Judge Ollada has already proved to be an outstanding judge and will become even better with more experience. The Commission finds that Judge Ollada is an excellent judge and should be retained.
