Fourteenth Judicial District - Moffat County Court Judge
Honorable Mary Lynne James
Retention Year: 1994
Recommendation: Retain
Judge Mary Lynne James was appointed to the Moffat County Court in 1984. Judge James currently hears all county court cases, which include civil, criminal, traffic, misdemeanor, and felony advisements and probable cause cases.
Courthouse personnel, and attorney questionnaires received by the commission rate Judge James highly overall and she received high marks for compassion, integrity, judicial demeanor and control of the courtroom. However, questionnaires from law enforcement personnel received by the commission were mixed in their review of Judge James. Judge James is very energetic, prepared, knowledgeable, and extremely patient, especially with parties who are not represented by lawyers.
Judge James participates in the Sweet Adelines and is chair person for the Habitat Partnership Committee.
The 14th Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge James BE RETAINED.
