Judge Richard P. Doucette received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado in 1966. Judge Doucette was admitted to the practice of law in 1966. He was in private practice until he was appointed District Judge of the Fourteenth Judicial District in 1981.
Judge Doucette currently hears all district court cases, which include civil cases involving more than $10,000, criminal, domestic, and juvenile cases.
The commission received responses to questionnaires sent to courthouse personnel, law enforcement, jurors and attorneys. Judge Doucette received high marks for sense of justice, compassion, integrity and control of the courtroom. Judge Doucette is also hard working.
