Fifteenth Judicial District - Kiowa County Court Judge
Honorable Gary W. Davis
Retention Year: 1996
Recommendation: Retain
The Fifteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Gary W. Davis BE RETAINED.
The basis for the decision to recommend retention is based upon interviews and personal recommendations presented to the Commission.
Judge Gary W. Davis has been the Kiowa County Judge since his appointment on May 8, 1992. Judge Gary Davis is classified as a 20% judge and continues to maintain a private practice in Kiowa County.
During the course of his interview, Judge Davis identified his practice as that of a "transactional" practice consisting of primarily real estate and contractual matters.
The overall response was that as the Kiowa County Judge, Judge Davis has maintained himself with the highest integrity and has been a positive factor in the community.
Reports to the Commission were that Judge Davis is highly regarded by local law enforcement, and the overall recommendations were for retention.
The majority of cases handled by Judge Davis are traffic cases with relatively few civil court matters coming before the court. There were no grievances or complaints concerning Judge Davis brought to the Commission's attention. It is the recommendation of the Commission that Judge Gary W. Davis be retained.
