The Seventeenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Cindy Hull Bruner BE RETAINED.

Judge Bruner was appointed as a County Court Judge in 1991. Prior to her appointment to the bench she was a deputy District Attorney for Adams County. Graduating from the University Of Colorado College Of Law in Boulder in 1984 she was admitted to the practice of law in October of that year.

Judge Bruner handles criminal cases almost exclusively and believes in treating all persons appearing before her with equality and respect. An innovator, working closely with other agencies to improve services for litigants and their families she is regarded as creative and thoughtful. She is active in many community and professional organizations.

The Commission reviewed written evaluations of Judge Bruner from both attorneys and non-attorneys responding to a professionally conducted survey. She received high ratings from both sides particularly in the area of communications. Of the attorneys responding to the survey 91% recommended she be retained, 8% recommended she not be retained. Of the non-attorneys responding 93% recommended retention, 6% non –retention. Further the Commission conducted a personal interview with the Judge and was impressed with her commitment to maintain high judicial standards while handling a large caseload.
