Judge Rebecca S. Bromley brought an excellent educational and work background to her position on the El Paso County Court bench. Following graduation from Smith College in 1967, she attended the University of Virginia Law School and received her juris doctor degree in 1971. She is a member of the Virginia and Colorado bar.
From 1971 to 1973 she was house counsel for a Colorado Springs land development firm, and from 1973 to 1981 was in the private practice of law in Colorado Springs. In October, 1981, she was appointed District Court Referee for the 4th Judicial District, a position she held until her appointment as County Judge in January, 1985. Judge Bromley hears civil, criminal, juvenile and domestic relations cases.
A total of 94 responses were received with a large preponderance of the participants recommending that Judge Bromley be retained in her position.
The 4th Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Rebecca S. Bromley be retained.
