Judge Anderson was appointed as an El Paso County District Court Judge in 1987. He handles a general district court caseload including felony, misdemeanor and traffic criminal cases, civil disputes, divorces including child custody disputes, probate cases, and appeals from county court. Before his district court appointment, Anderson served on the county court bench for almost four years.

Anderson is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and attended law school at Loyola University, earning his juris doctor degree in June 1973. He was admitted to the Colorado bar the same year. His experience includes serving as a deputy district attorney in Pueblo and Salida and as a municipal court prosecutor. He was also in private practice. Immediately before being appointed to the county court bench, Anderson served as a worker’s compensation hearing office for the State of Colorado.

Anderson received very high ratings among those polled. Attorneys gave him the highest ratings of all district court judges polled, and many commented he is a diligent worker with dignified demeanor.
