Allan, Geraldine 1990 Evaluation

Eighteenth Judicial District - Arapahoe County Court Judge

Honorable Geraldine Lynne Allan

Retention Year: 1990
Recommendation: Retain

Judicial Performance Commission’s recommendation: Should Be Retained

Judge Allan was admitted to practice law in 1969 and has had a diversified legal career. She was in private practice, and has been employed by the Arapahoe County Legal Aid Office; and as a deputy city attorney in Littleton for two years; and as an instructor for the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy for two years. Before her appointment to the Arapahoe County Court in November 1987, she served as an associate judge for the Englewood Municipal Court and a referee commissioner for the Arapahoe County District Court.

In her current assignment, Allan has a docket that consists of 70% alcohol-related driving cases and 25% misdemeanor cases.

Criticism of Allan appeared to be in her relationship with her personal staff and the staff in the main’s clerk’s office. Most responses indicated she is a hard working judge who has an abiding interest in justice.
