Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I complete the survey?
By completing the surveys, you help shape tomorrow’s judiciary. The combined attorney and non-attorney responses make up the judicial performance report used by judges for self-improvement and commissions judicial performance to complete their evaluations and ultimately make retention recommendations for voters.

Why was I chosen?
It is important that we receive feedback from those that have interactions with the Colorado Judicial system. You were chosen because you had an appearance before one or more Colorado judges or justices in the prior 3 months or up to a year’s time.

Who sponsors the survey?
The survey is sponsored by The Office of Judicial Performance Evaluation. If you would like more information about the survey or to verify its legitimacy you can contact the Office of Judicial Performance Evaluation (OJPE) at 303-928-7777.

Who is conducting the survey?
The Office of Judicial Performance Evaluation (judicialperformance.colorado.gov) contracts with Market Decisions Research (marketdecisions.com/) to administer the judicial survey process. Are my responses confidential?
Your honest, constructive, and accurate evaluations of judges are a crucial component of the Judicial Performance Evaluation program. For this reason, the evaluations you provide are confidential. Your name and other identifying information in no way is associated with your responses to the survey.
